I painted this piece while floating down Cataract Canyon in October, 2018. The trip launched from Moab Utah, and floated close to 100 miles down the Colorado River, into Lake Powell. For all but one day of the trip, we tied our rafts together and floated on flat water, which gave me lots of time to paint the surrounding landscapes. This was the first painting I did on the trip, of the view up stream as we floated out of camp on day two.
